Thomas Hansen

Chief Revenue Officer

I have always been an entrepreneur. I started my career managing a small windsurfing company in Denmark, a role that taught me (quite literally) how important composure, adaptability, focus, balance, decisiveness and the constant pursuit of “going big” are to success. These were foundational lessons that have served me throughout my career long after I traded in sails for sales.

Currently I am the Chief Revenue Officer at UiPath. The company’s hyperautomation platform combines the #1 Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution with a full suite of capabilities that enable every organization to scale digital business operations at unprecedented speed.

Until April 2020 I was the SVP of Customer Operations at VMware Carbon Black, VMware’s security division (created in October 2019, when VMware acquired Carbon Black). Joining Carbon Black in 2017 as CRO & EVP and shortly after becoming COO, I helped the company grow into a leader in the security space. In 2018, we had a successful IPO on NASDAQ (CBLK).

Prior to Carbon Black, I served as Global Vice President Revenue at Dropbox (DBX) where I enabled teams to drive hyper-growth through a multi-channel GTM strategy scaling to more than $1B in annualized revenue, the fastest SaaS company of all time to reach that mark.

As the Worldwide Vice President of the SMB organization at Microsoft from 2001 to 2015, I led a multi-billion dollar growth business with a global team of sales, marketing and partner management professionals, recruiting and building the world’s largest cloud ecosystem of partners.

With my mission to lead people and organizations to go further than they otherwise would, my entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond my day job. One of the more rewarding times in my career was serving on the global board of Enablis, a non-profit organization that empowers entrepreneurs in developing countries by providing networking, coaching, mentoring & financing. I currently serve as an adviser for Outreach and a Board Member for Forter.

Born, raised and educated in Denmark, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to live and work on five different continents and earn both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School.

I currently live in Seattle with my wife & three children and continue to passionately enjoy windsurfing, adding stickers to my passports, and providing entrepreneurial mentorship. My focus, both personally and professionally, continues to be rooted in the concept of “going big” and helping others do the same!
